Choosing downlight fittings & kits
These fittings take a separate lamp, which lets you choose the beam angle, colour temperature and output for each room. GU10 fittings run on mains voltage. 12V fittings take an MR16 lamp and need a suitable transformer or driver, so check compatibility with LED lamps. Check the cut-out size against the ceiling, especially when replacing existing fittings. Tilt fittings let you aim light at walls or features, and fixed fittings give general downlighting. Finishes such as satin chrome and brass let the trim match switches and other fittings in the room.
