Choosing decorative ceiling lights
Match the fitting to the ceiling height. Flush fittings suit standard and low ceilings and keep headroom clear in passages. Semi-flush designs work well where there is a little more height. The diameter should suit the room: a larger room can carry a larger fitting, or several smaller ones. Integrated LED ceiling lights are compact and need no lamp changes. Fittings with a lamp holder let you choose the lamp's colour temperature and output, so check the lamp type and maximum wattage on the product page. Many integrated models offer selectable colour temperature, which is useful when the final mood of a room is still being decided. For bathrooms, choose a model with a suitable IP rating.
