Choosing led tubes & linear lights
When replacing fluorescent tubes, check how the existing fitting is wired. Some LED tubes need the old starter or ballast bypassed, so confirm compatibility before ordering. Standard tube lengths are 600mm (2ft), 1200mm (4ft) and 1500mm (5ft). For new installations, an integrated LED batten avoids tube compatibility questions altogether. In car parks, food preparation areas and outdoor canopies, choose a sealed waterproof fitting with an IP65 rating. Twin-tube fittings carry two tubes, so check the total light output on the product page rather than the per-tube figure. For high-use areas, efficiency matters most: compare lumens per watt across options.
