Choosing outdoor lighting
The environment comes first. Check the IP rating against where the fitting will be installed. IP44 suits covered areas, while fully exposed locations call for IP65 or higher. Coastal sites benefit from corrosion-resistant materials and finishes, so look at the housing material listed on each product. Up-and-down wall lights wash a façade and mark entrances. Bollards and spike lights guide people along paths without glare. Bulkheads give robust, practical light for service areas and stairwells. Warm white (around 3000K) suits most residential and hospitality exteriors. For larger sites, combine fittings in layers: entrances, paths, landscaping and security. Many outdoor fittings take a separate lamp, so check the lamp type on the product page and add a matching lamp to your quote.
