Choosing solar lighting
A solar light depends on three things working together: the panel, the battery and the LED. A larger panel and battery give longer run times, especially after cloudy days, so check the battery capacity and stated working time on each product page. Position the panel where it receives direct sun for most of the day, away from roof overhangs and trees. Motion-sensor models extend run time by dimming or switching off when no one is present. Solar street lights carry the panel and battery on the pole, which is useful where trenching for cabling is impractical. Treat brightness claims with care: compare actual lumen figures rather than equivalent-wattage descriptions. For large or critical installations, discuss run-time requirements with us before ordering.
