Choosing switches & sockets

Match the switch or socket to the wall box size: 4x2 and 4x4 are the standard sizes in South Africa. Combination sockets give a mix of 16A 3-pin and Schuko outlets in one plate, which reduces the need for adaptors. Choose the number of switch levers and the way (one-way or two-way) to suit the circuit. Keep finishes consistent across a room. Installation must be done by a qualified electrician.
